Male Crimp Terminal for the Automotive Industry

Male Crimp Terminal for the Automotive IndustryThis male crimp terminal for the automotive industry illustrates CGR Technologies Inc. capabilities across several machining processes. Using a c520 phosphor bronze base alloy, we first created a prototype for our client. Once approved, we moved on to the production process, a low-volume stamping run of 500 pieces. This part had several special features, including a crimp, hem, and wire restraint, and so a number of additional processes were carried out. After stamping, the piece underwent chemical milling, die cutting, shear forming, and coining to achieve the proper shapes and features required.

For this piece, measuring 1.125" x 0.350" x 0.125", we used phosphor bronze in a 0.012" thickness through the initial stamping operation, maintaining a tolerance of 0.002". After all machining processes were carried out; we applied additional material thickness via a plating of bright tin over copper. With a lead time of 2 weeks, the completed order was delivered to a satisfied customer.
