Platinum Implantable Contact for Medical Applications
In manufacturing this implantable contact made of platinum iridium 90/10, CGR Technologies Inc. was able to demonstrate our capability and knowledge in working with specialized, medical grade base material. The platinum iridium 90/10 alloy meets high standards in purity and durability that make it suitable for use in the human body, and the ability to machine, EDM, stamp and form this metal is a valuable service that we provide our customers.
Working with material 0.002" thick, we used a micro stamping process to produce a run of 300 pieces measuring 0.100" x 0.015" each. We produced blanks with the wire edm process and then used our proprietary stage tooling process to finish the final formed product. From design to build to delivery, the turnaround time for this project was 3 weeks.
